VERONA
Piazza dei Signori
Verona was an unexpected, nice surprise. We didn't know much about it, except that it was the home of Romeo and Juliet.

Verona was absolutely beautiful; like a miniature Rome. Everything was very classic and green, with cobble-stone streets and a river weaving through it.

Our hostel was lovely, too; set atop a steep winding hill inside big iron gates. There was a courtyard, dining hall, terraces, little lover's alcoves, and even some caves behind the courtyard!!!! We met some cool people from all over the world: a Finnish girl who was living in London; a Brasilian girl, Margot; these cute little swedish girls; a hysterical Irish guy who could do ANY accent; the usual Aussies and New Zealanders, and even a guy from Durham, North Carolina!!!

Needless to say, we had fun here but also took the week to relax and work on our journals. It was a much-needed rest after the stress of driving around for three weeks straight.
