The Ponte de Suspiria , or "Bridge of Sighs." Inside is the
pathway that was used to lead criminals from the
Palazzo Ducale (Duke's palace) into the royal prison. The bridge is so named
because the view out those tiny caged windows was often
the convict's last view of freedom.

The reason we drove back to Venice was to see the 2003 Bienale, a renowned international art exhibition with installations from 31 countries.

Our two-day stop in Venice was breathtaking. Venice is a city you can see in a day, but you could stay weeks and never get bored because it's so gorgeous.
