Our Hike through the "Five Lands"

The hike that draws the visitors consists of a 7 to 10 kilometer trail running along the coastline, connecting the five towns, as well as various other, more challenging trails that run up and down the mountains.   Kate, Grace and I decided to take the lower trail because we wanted to see the towns and go to the beach (see beach link). We stayed in Riomaggiore, and hiked through Manarola (the next beautiful town), Corniglia (the highest of the towns with awesome views over vinyards!), Vernazza, and Monterosso al Mare.

We made it safely!!!!

A selection of local wines and a liquer called " limoncello," with your favorist fascist dictator, revolutionary, or musician on them!!!  Among those to choose from were Hitler, Mussolini, Che Guevara, and Bob Marley.

This was our day-pass to the hike and the trains through the five towns.
