Budapest

Omar and I in front of Parliament

This city took my breath away - it was otherwordly, gothic, and breathtakingly beautiful. Walking around there at night felt like being in a very classy black & white movie form the 1920s... women in fur coats, bars & clubs, everything in shades of grey except for glowing lights.

This city is one of the three jewels of the former Austro-Hungarian empire - along w/ Prague (Praha ) & Vienna (Wien ) - and stands one of the most beautiful and at the time richest cities of the empire. Budapest is unique in that it is a doorway to the East, blending Western culture with Middle-Eastern & Byzantine architecture. Budapest shares a culture (and a language) like no other, and hasn't been ruined by the stamp of tourism.

To make it eaven better - it is cheap! You can wine & dine and sleep like royalty here & not pay an arm and a leg for it!
