A Dream in Architecture...
I am obsessed with this building.  I love how weird and beautifully surreal it is. It looks awesome during the day and at night. In Barcelona, in the early 20th century when it was remodeled by Gaudí, it was referred to as the "House of Bones."

The roof is supposed to look like a dragon's back, the top chimney like a lance, inspired by story of the patron saint of Catalonia, St. George, slaying the dragon.

The whole house has an underwater theme. The colors of the facade are all colors found naturally occuring in coral.  From mosaics of blue and purple to wavy wooden doors separating the living room in the apartment...even the stained-glass windows have a submarine-like feel to them, as if you're inside an enormous fish peering into the world.
The window
of Casa Batlló, reminiscent of a gaping, bony mouth.
You can see the wavy stained-glass windows from here.
Casa Amatller,
right next
to Casa Batlló, was built
by the
architect
Puig i Cadafalch.
A nice (and seemingly old) picture of the whole
building  from the web.
