One of the main reasons we wanted to work on a farm is because we love animals.  This farm had pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, goats, dogs, and a cat.

Hund, one of the German shephards, had just shown up on their farm one day.  They kept thinking his owners would come and claim him, so they just called him "Hund," the german word for "dog."  No one ever did come for him, so the name stuck.

They kept a pen of pigs, with one male, two older females, two younger females, and one baby that had to fight to get morsels of food.  They let you pet them, too.
